i was wondering if it was safe to slow take material away from the inside of the bushing to allow the somehow thick non 14mm sway to fit. is it safe to do so? bushings are Energy Bushings from MPx

You could try, but urethane is a bitch to drill, and it won't turn out pretty. It would be easier to just get the correct bushing for the bar. On mine, I just kept the oem center bushings and clamped it down. The rubber ones work fine. They have survived for 80,000 miles with a bigger rod stuffed in them. Total mileage 172,xxx. Can't say so much for the end links tho.

The kit I got from MPx had sent me 14mm rear bushings, could I just stuff those in there if my bar is something like 20mm? Because it does not look like 14mm :S

No. the urethane ones won't squish like the rubber ones. I only went up one size, so it isn't a huge difference.

IIRC the base rear bar is 15mm.

If they sent you the wrong ones, have them make it right. If you ordered them wrong, then you will have to suck it up, and get the correct ones.

Edit: Just use a metric wrench to see what size it is.
