Ever since I got the car, the e brake doesn't work. I could have the handle pulled up and be cruising at 60 and nothing. Took the drum off today to look at it and found this.

The cable isn't even attached to anything, just hanging out in there.. what do I need to get it working again? I've never had to mess with e brakes before so I'm clueless

please for gods sake tell me you have 4wheel disc brakes.

you said you took the drum off, i hope thats the rear rotor u mean.

if you took the drum off, it means u have no rear brakes at all..


you need the brake shoes, springs, star nut, hardware kit. etc...


might be easier to go to a junkyard and snag the whole backing plate assembly from another neon.


rockauto.com is a good place for parts. u can get the parking brake shoes, and parking brake hardware kit for (if it includes both sides) 11$ hardware kit and 17$ for the shoes. not clear on if its both sides, or PER side. if per = double the price.

Yeah sorry I meant to write rotor, Idk why I wrote drum..lol. but yeah the jy near me has about 10 2gns so I'll prolly just head out that way tomorrow or Tuesday and pick up the stuff. Thanks for the response
