vibrant front bar = POS

Post by p8ntballah413 » Tue Jan 24, 2006 2:05 pm

I cannot figure out for the life of me how this thing goes on my car. the right side has three holes in it and the ring kinda fits on, it hits up where the rubber striping is by the top of the firewall, the otherside isnt even close, the ring is noticibly bigger than the other side and it only has two holes drilled in it...i dunno what MP was smoking when they shipped this out, but this cannot be what i ordered.

it also looks as if the ring on the right side, (the right size and has 3 holes) should be on the left side, ive looked at pics of it and the ring should be positioned more behind the bar, but instead the ring is infront of the bar, leading me to believe it should go on the other side, here is a pic of this pos.

Yes the brackets are on the wrong side or you're trying to put it on backwards.

Drill another hole

WTF that thing is MESSED UP!!! send it back dude fuck installing it. look how off center it looks. i have the cheaper vibrant bar and it fit great (except it pinches the washer hoses a bit, but i deleted them and the whole res. so i dont care lol).

whats off center?

pull the brakets off... check to make sure they are the same size, if they are then drill another hole in the braket, install the brakets onto the strut tower and then install the bar. sending it back for a simple fix is more work on your part.

Look at the left loop compared to the right. why would the left one be flush with the bar and the right one stick towards the firewall side of it like 1"? mine dont have anything uneven going on. arent strut towers symmetrical? duh

the bracket on the left side is larger then the one on the right side for sure, and the right side bracket should be on the left side of the bar.

call modern (if thats were you got it from), they might just send you a new bracket.

i had issues installing mine, but that was due to an extra part that sits on top of the fender on 05's.

I put mine on in ten minutes. That thing is funky. Just call em.' They are cool about sending stuff quickly and returning stuff. When they mistakenly sold me Accel injectors they took em' back no problem. Its always a bummer to send new toys back though. :(

chances are its a mistake at the vibrant factory.. WHICH HAPPENS when you make so many different applications.. soemtimes the wrong part gets used.. its not moderns fault. they arent expected to check every single item they get in to make sure it has the correct parts. and even if they do check.. doesnt mean your gonna get the right thing =P i ordered a 03 headlamp back when i had the SRT front.. took 3 tries before i got the correct bezel, and correct side headlamp.
