Rims Chosen / Suspension Choice Work ?

Post by NASTEON » Tue Mar 04, 2014 11:36 pm

Hey everyone,
I did my research and I am going for the 16x7 Rota Slipstreams ( Function over Form) and I know they may slightly rub in the rear with a 225/45/16 tire on it. Well I need a 225 tire because I will be putting down some serious power after meth kit is installed. I would like to run the Eibach Pro Kit with Tockico Blue shock/struts, I have ran this setup before on my PT GT and loved them.

My question is if I choose this suspension setup would I have a rub or clearance issue while running said width tires ? I have searched but could not find anything on this exact setup/tire size, perhaps I havnt been looking hard enough but all I find is people running coilovers in which I really do not want to do that route if at all possible.

Thanks,
Chris

What he said... if it will fit stock, it will fit anything. lowering the car won't change that.

Didnt think it would, my main concern which I forgot to mention is clearance from the tire to the bottom of the finder/quarter panel. I don't want fenders to be nomming on my tires over bumps and what not

P.S

I dont have the right program to downsize the sig pic in the correct type of file I will work on finding one haha

If your hosting your pics on photobucket you can do it there, just change the size, it's under one of the options

as you mentioned the rear will be an issue. I would reccomend a staggard 215 rear and 225 up front to mitigate the issue. i ran that with 17x7 rims. handling was actually really good with that setup.

huh? the oem package on ACR SRT4 is 225/45 on 16x7 and iirc also et40. I don't have any issues with that on my SRT nor the 225/45/15's on either SRT or SXT.

ignore, I was on 17s so you probably will get better clearance with the 16s

With Eibach Pro Kit no way you will be low enough for tire nommage. You could always just roll the wheel opening lip if you have to.

I saw another 2g neon from this forum and he had the same wheel size/tire size actually the exact same rims ( with an et 40 ) I want and his did rub on that rear bar ( can't remember the name of it) under his car but more of a light graze, It was due to his tire choice which he had on nexen 3000's and he switched to a diffrent tire and had no rub issues. Nice I'll run that suspension thanks a lot ! I would prefer to run 225's all the way around, Im going to chance it on some Nitto Neogen's and hope I dodge the rubbing

P.S. Never messed around with photobucket so never knew you could do that on there Thanks for that as well !
