Suspension decision help

Post by blueneo03 » Wed Mar 05, 2014 1:42 pm

So i have been needing to get some new struts and have been planning on getting tokicos..

I had the tokicos and Tien S techs on my last 2gn and i loved the setup with an srt rear sway but my problem came when i saw just how cheap racelands are....

so because i already have the tiens i would only need tokicos so ~460? and racelands are 360 so with shipping close enough to the same price to be a difficult decision.

My main concern is how durable are the racelands? will they last as long as struts/springs?

Im not too worried about adjustability as i like the height of the tiens and i would not have them set too low im not looking to tuck tire really or at least much... but i wouldnt mind having the option.

soo.... help me decide or help me get the correct info to make the decision.

the racelands come with a 2 year warranty so i'm sure they will last, how long is hard to tell as they've only been available for a short while, heck the warranty hasnt even run out on the original batch yet.
i run tokico's currently and i do like them but even with only a 1.5" drop they still blew out after a few years. choice is yours but i went with racelands myself.

I had tokico blue's and CM springs, was an OKAY set up. But from what raceland owners have described, it sounds like a very similar ride. If that's the case, I'd go racelands since it's one piece and you have that height adjustability.

I'd go with Racelands as well. Hell mine are hacked up messes now and they still rebound fairly well as far as I can tell. You probably won't tuck any tire on them, but you'll get lower than the springs, that's for sure.

what else do you need to change/should change when you get racelands?? I too am in the same situation as OP.

Do you need to change the sway bars? I am putting new ball joints/control arms in those are completely shot/blown

Do you need camber plates and ground control plates? What happens if you don't use camber plates and ground control plates?

You can use factory top hats, you don't have to use camber plates, I would recommend getting a set of camber bolts though

you can use camber correction bolts if you need to. There are some camber plates you may be able to use that are for sale on ebay.
