So i was checking out craigslist to see if they has a Neon that has a good sub frame. Maybe one wrecked from behind or something.

No year is listed. But im sure someone will know. I need a 2002-2005 k frame. Is this any of those years?

While not worth 800 bucks, i could use some other things. Maybe lower control arms, AC compressor, tires if they are good. Who knows.

At the same time, it could be an easy fix.

Im going to shoot them an email to se if they can give more details and maybe a pic of under it to see the rust.

Does anyone need anything off this car like glass or seats or non-mechanical parts? Since verifying the condition of the engine or tranny is not reliable id say stick with tail lights and what not.

Anyone in the NY/NJ metro wanna part this thing out with me?

Unless the owner has swapped front and rear clips, the car pictured is in the '03 to '05 model years. If the K-frame on this car is solid, it might be worth their asking price for the "other things" you mention. Here is an older post about new K-frame costs to compare:

i used to buy ready to run kits of r/c cars and strip them down on ebay and sell the parts for profit or make my money back and have extra parts. A ready to run kit is just one that you pu tfuel and betteries in and go (no assembly required). Id buy a kit for $450 and profit $150-$200 a kit or Id make the $450 back and get free tires (they wear out too - cost $40), rfee A-Arms if i broke any, ect ect ect. I cant see why that wouldnt work with a Neon.

The only requirement is i cnat do this in my basement and put the parts on a shelf in a closet.

But id be down for renting a storage unit, dismantling it and stocking the parts people may need.

Plus i get the parts I need off this car (if they are even any good).

I sent them an email but havent heard back as to the condition of the crossmember or if the AC works and what the "cheap fix" problem is.

Locatoin: Greenfield, IN (Close to Indianapolis)

I called and talk to the dealer bc the car peaked my interest. The dealer said it has a big turbo on it. He also said the car fax is clean and it's a 4 owner car that was original sold new in Nebraska. The car looks pretty clean in the pictures and I would have been interested in it but I can't afford it.

The car does have the SRS seats and according to what I have heard they only made 1 yellow 04 with SRS seats. There is no way to know whether or not this is actually that particular car because seats can be changed easily, but you could always tell everyone it is.

Hopefully a Neon person scoops this rare car up before some young kid who knows nothing about Neons gets it and wraps it around a tree.

Yes it is, I wonder if that one is still out there or if it has been used up and junked. If it is out there hopefully the luckily soul who owns it is taking good care of it!

I am very tempted but I know pre late 1998's had crapy cork/cardboard headgaskets. I still don't believe that mileage though. So easy to roll the mileage back on 1gn clusters.

IDK, my 1GN was a very early build (March 1994) and the OEM headgasket didn't give me any issues until after 100K. If Mopar is still making replacement gaskets, I would imagine that they are better quality than the factory originals were back then.
