$34,000 invested, plus the original cost of the neon....
unfortunately customer/friend knows hes not going to get near that and is a motivated seller
More like "Fortunately the customer knows he isn't going to get that."
you cant build this again for less than 50k
Um yeah, you could easily do it, if you got your hand dirty, and did some of the work yourself.

It does happen... Estimating near $25K in parts and labor from shops in almost 15 years for my SRT. [/off-topic]

Meh, that's about $1600ish a year, you would have spent far more financing two cars, or leasing three of them in that amount of time.

I doubt the seller took that long to dump that much, and yours still looks better.

The way I see it, a person spends that for their own personal enjoyment, and when they are done with it, they shouldn't expect the next owner to reimburse them for the time they spent enjoying the car. And if they didn't enjoy it, sorry about their luck.

The next owner will probably toss half the mods anyways, especially in this situation, and make it their car, instead of the PO's. The loss you take is the fee for the next owner removing your "stains".

Thanks for the nice comments about my "investment." Some have called me crazy! The only difference with my SRT is, if it were sold (after I'm dead), I would think that a prospective buyer would take into account that only Mopar parts have been used and (except for the coilovers, CAI, BOV and rust proofing), all work has been done at dealerships.

Aren't your coilovers KW's?

At least KW was an official Mopar vendor.

They are Mopar Performance parts but were manufactured by KW.

As far as I'm concerned, if they were sold through Mopar Performance, they are genuine Mopar parts. It's not like Chrysler manufactured every single part. I doubt they ever made their own shock absorbers/struts, let alone coilovers. I seen some used KW's on sale on eBay about two weeks ago, that came off an SRT 4, and they had Mopar Performance plaques on them.

Given that the Mopar replacement cam sensors are made in China, and have been for some time now, I'll take German made parts as genuine parts everyday of the week.

Yeah, that was the only disappointment for me when the box arrived... seeing "Made In Germany" on the Mopar parts sticker. Yes, certainly better than ANYTHING made in China.

More OT....

The under dash frame tubing, and possibly? the wiring, is made by Lear Corporation. You really have to wonder how much of the car is actually made by the named manufacturer, and how much is outside vendors.

It's the same at my employer, probably over half of our product is outsourced, and sadly over half of that is from China. But expect the consumers to support American made. But not "American" businesses.

And funny part is none of our market is in the US. Our target market would rather buy imported stuff from our competition.

All of the major harness connectors on my Mazdas (door-to-body, ECU, body controller aka "PJB") actually say Lear right on them.

Yes, it's not like the old days when Chrysler Corp. did a lot of manufacturing in house. Although, I've recently read on allpar.com about how PPG helped to develop the unique side glass for the Plymouth Duster. [/off-topic]

Pushing 25,000 miles. Even if it had Zero miles, it might be worth $25,000

Someone is going to get their bubble burst.

WTF, they can't even clean the underside? That exhaust looks pretty effin scaly for only 25,000 miles. For a million, the bottom side should be as nice as the top side.

I lower my "might be worth" to $15,000 now.
