Black SRT-4 in Lafayette, IN that needs help!

I saw something extremely depressing Tuesday afternoon. Went to park at Red Lobster and noticed a black SRT-4 parked with the front axles almost in the dirt and weeds growing up around it

where the restaurant parking lot borders a used car lot. The car is missing the fog light surrounds, the mesh over the intercooler has come loose and is just hanging, has very faded B pillars, a cracked windshield, a crack somewhere in the passenger-side headlight (moisture inside of the headlight), dents in the front passenger-side fender, weatherstripping of some sort lying across the front seats, bad aftermarket rims and a temp spare on the passenger-side rear wheel. Even the "chrome" finish from the SRT badge has worn off. Whoever treated this car so poorly deserves a

!

I don't know what they want for it as the lot was already closed for the day when I saw the car. Maybe someone might want it for restoration or a parts/donor car? It sure deserves some TLC.

I just called and whoever answered the phone said, "It's not ready to go yet" and didn't have a price. That poor car made mine look like it just came off the line from Belvidere when the two were parked next to each other so I looked at mine and said, "I hope you appreciate how babied you are!"

haha i like that last part about you talking to it. Everytime I see a car like that I imagine parting it out

Yeah, if I had the purchase funds and a storage place, I would buy it myself for parts. After almost killing myself to get an SRT, it just makes me mad to see a car whose owner was so thoughtless about its care.

Sounds about right for that area...I know a few kids who had SRT-4's for winter beater cars. They drive their 100k cars and use our nice cars for something to beat on.

If the price was right I would look into it...I'm still trying to get a Motor Sports edition out of Lacrosse, Indiana.

My problem is that I can't imagine someone spending $23K for a car and treating it like a plastic soda bottle. Well, mine will definitely hold its value in the coming years since SRT's seem to be dying left and right.

^^ yeah i know. It's all about the person i suppose. I would value both cars even if the SRT is a beater. Beater as in miles, not litteraly how a person is careless about it.

I've seen the poor car you're talking about. Thats the kind of thing that makes you cringe....

That place always has riced out "go fast" cars.

Well, they've got it stashed on the back row, as far from the Union St. entrance as it can get. With the weeds and the car literally on the ground in front, it looked more like a junkyard setting than what you would expect for a used car lot. I am so glad that my car has a good home and isn't beaten on.

The MS in Lacrosse is in the process of being finished. It needs some work. I know it was in an accident because I've been watching it for like 3 years now. It is coming together very slowly. I'll take pictures when I go by it again.

It's red, has the wheels and badges and is of the correct year to be a MS, I would have to check vin for sure but it has everything it should.

It might be something for you to look into Gramps! Could be a good price. I just have to find the owner and ask him about it and try not to sound all thrilled about it.

Seriously, the care and feeding of my SRT is all that I can handle so no other cars for me at the moment. I would be interested to see pics of the MS if you get any.

x2 on killing ones self to get one. I lusted after one while i was in college back in 2002 and where i graduated in 2004 still couldn't afford one. but some stroke of luck in 2006 was able to buy a leftover 05 ACR just the way i wanted. it is babied. only has 155 miles on it. its mine till RIP and even then they'll have to bury me in it

i called them they said its not running they need parts for it, i ask them how much it would go for he said 8k. they wont get that i went and looked at it and its fuck up bad. i dont know the mileage

go on the http://www.srtforums.com/forums/ and look for a decent running car there dude. don't bother with one that who knows how the past owner has treated it and what could be wrong with it. why isn't it running?
