31th is hydrolic so you shouldn't need your pcm at all to control shifts

for 3rd gear lockup you do, but i'm sure something could be done in megasqirt to control it

Right, to control shifts it's hydraulic but something needs to tell the converter to lock up.

Makes sense I don't know why it posted twice, so you won't be able to get direct drive without having th ecu hooked up to the torque converter lock up solenoid?

Something needs to control it. I don't think it has to be the computer.

For some RWD transmissions like the 4L60E, 4L80E, 700r4 you can setup a little device to do it automatically.

Well know it sounds more confuse, something to look up the 3rd gear, well, i really want it, also the kit of esteinmaier the megasquirt that comes preconfigured, i already makes stronger my bottom end, with eagle rods and je 8.8 pistons, if this new config needs to be updated in the megasquirt?

The megasquirt of the kit can be programed to old a ATX 3speed and a compression ratio of 8.1? in a 2000 neon?

Yes, but you still need to fine tune it. MS doesn't hold long term fuel trims the same way stock ECUs do, since it's assumed you are going to tune it.
ASP - First NGC SOHC in the 13s and the 12s. First SOHC neon over 500whp. First NGC Neon on MS.
