JM Solid Shifter Cradle Bushings (Out of Stock)

Post by racer12306 » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:58 pm

Currently out of stock. I will post up when I have more, but I'm not sure when that will be.

As Jonny mentioned in his vendor thread, I will be the new supplier for the illustrious JonnyMopar Solid Shifter Cradle Bushings.

If you're not sure what these are, on a 2000-2005 5-speed Neon, the whole shifter assembly is bolted to the floor with 4 rubber grommets, so it's got a little bit of play. Even when you do a short throw shifter or Boogers, or both, that overall give is still there. The bushings that I've made will eliminate that last bit of play and all you'll have left is the small bit that is in the cables (which is unavoidable). You don't even have to take the shifter out of the car to replace these bushings. All you'll need to do is unbolt it.

I am also offering the bushings for the Hurst shifter. These are longer than the standard size and are used to lift the shifter base off of the floor. The Hurst shifter comes with a poly bushing that still has play in it. These will completely remove the play. You will still need to use the washer that comes with the Hurst shifter to clamp the shifter base down.

I do not have a picture of these, but hopefully someone will send me a pic of them installed.

Inventory

Current Inventory: 0

My goal is to maintain at least some inventory. I'll probably make up 10 sets at a time to minimize shipping time. If you send in an order and I am out of stock, I will send an email/PM with an estimate of when I will be able to make more.

Pricing
$15 per set including shipping to the continental USA and Canada (if you are in Europe, HI, AK or somewhere else in the world, please send me a PM for a price).

$30 per set including shipping for the Hurst bushings to the continental USA and Canada (again if you are elsewhere in the world please PM me for a price). This style will not be stocked due the low demand. If you would like these, send me a PM and I will let you know when I'll be able to make them.

I am also offering the ability to donate to your favorite forum with the purchase of these bushings. If you send $20 ($35 for the Hurst bushings) for a set of these bushings $8 will be donated to directly to 2GN.org.

Payment
I accept:
cash (in person)
check (item won't ship until cleared)
money order
paypal (racer12306 (at) gmail (dot) com)

PM for the address to send a check or MO.

Compatibility
*stock Neon
*stock SRT-4
*Mopar Performance
*Mopure
*Maddog series (all)
*B&M
*Fidanza
*various rod-only eBay shifters
*Hurst**

**Hurst compatibility requires the Hurst style bushings.

Testimonials
FTWNeon on JonnyMopar Bushings with a Maddog 72% wrote:These things work great! They removed so much slop in the shifter. I still have some as I still havn't gotten any boogers yet but it still feels so much better. It's alot more enjoyable doing a hard 1-2 shift. I love them!

Edits
3/14/2011: These will now be called JM Shifter Cradle Bushings. I want to keep their heritage but differentiate the ones that I'm making from the ones that Jonny made. They are virtually the exact same parts. I only made a couple of very minor changes.

4/5/2011: Price changed to $15 shipped

7/30/2011: Added info on the Hurst style bushings.

Any bushing that were ordered and paid for through Jon have been shipped per Jon's vendor thread.

He told me there were 3 or so people that did not make the deadline on his last batch. If you are one of those 3, I am planning to make a batch of them tomorrow. Someone already PM'd me about the only set that I currently have so they go to that member.

Except for one set going to the United Kingdom, you guys were the furthest away, so I would guess that if you have your sets, everybody else in that last batch got them.

Kudos to Frank for taking over making these. Sad to see one of my pet projects go, but it's in good hands for sure.

I got my final two sets of the old JohnnyMopar ones yesterday!

Frank, when are you going to start making them out of titanium?

After looking up titanium prices:

One set of bushings would cost: ~$75

And I would need at least 5 orders with 100% deposits

When are you making my ivory ones, Frank? I got the diamond-encrusted gold ones but they're not rare enough.

You know you want the titanium.

I was half joking at first but in all seriousness, if there are 5 people that want a titanium set I'll give it a shot.

Since I wouldn't change the design at all, it would actually be heavier.

I don't know how to design for titanium so I wouldn't know where I could cut weight.

My understanding is that they are not necessary on a 1GN because the shifter is already mounted right to the floor on those.
