repairing wheels

i curbed my back passenger SRT rim, and have some stone chips in the front ones,,,,,


whats the best thing to use to smooth them back out so i can paint them over the winter..

(1) sand them
(2) stop parking so close to the curb

Eh, I think bondo or JB weld would a.) Throw off the balance of the wheel and b.) fly off at high speeds. Your best bet is probably to sand them as smooth as you can get 'em.

As a professional that uses bondo I can tell you that

A: If done correctly it will NOT fly off at any speed you will be reaching in your neon, as long as the surface is prepped properly.

If there is a seriously deep gash that you cannot sand out I would suggest bondo, NOT jb-weld. Just make sure that you can do the job to your liking before you get into it. It might take a few times of filling, sanding, shaping.

^^^ what hwe said. everyone told crucial neon that the bondo in his roof was gonna fly out.. but its been like 2 years with no problems.

Bondo shouldnt fly off if its done right. Just have fun sanding :) and it will turn out nicely.
