Which looks better? (In your opinion)
I agree with lambo to an extent except i feel he's gone a little too far with the term. Rice = Race Inspired Car Enthusiast = wanna-be racers...a body kit does not make rice, lowering does not make rice, paint doesnt make rice....
What does is a pieced together body kit with tape/zip ties, unpainted, stcikers all over the damn car, a huge wing that supposedly adds downforce but doesnt do anything at all...Cut springs to induce lowering is not only rice but retarded and very unsafe.
Alot of the way Lambo described rice can be summed up as a show car. Show cars is all about attracting attention positively and standing out in a crowd of custom. Ricer cars are about fooling someone into believing it's something it is not. If its a show car and its slow than drive it like it is, if its a stock car and its slow drive it like it is, if its a show car and its got the go then go son! And if its a crazy sleeper stock looking with 500hp than beat the fenders off all the other cars on the track and have a good laugh they just got wasted by "just a neon"...
Rice is a negative term as can be a show car on the streets. You dont wear a tuxedo to a food drive...
Show cars have their own world, they do it well if done right, and to a certain extent lose alot of appeal when you see them on the streets day in and day out. If i saw KrackStar's car at a show id be drooling. If i saw him on the streets id think he was crazy for driving it and laugh at him probably. Ricers on the other have no world of their own except with their own, wanna-bes never really end up being.

rice = Race Inspired Car Enthusiast...
nothign in the term sounds bad.. sorry...
This is my first American Rice Rockets... a.k.a. Dodge Neon..
i had no idea that there was a whole nuther defintion for rice, as in being bad, just because we drive american built cars.
The SRT-4 it's self is decribed as an over the top Rice Rocket manufactured by Dodge, by every single motor trend magazine i've read. I still don't see how thats a bad thing, and i never said it was.
So...... All you "rice" haters, better look at yourself for once. Hate Bad Rice, cause they give you all a bad name, don't hate rice in general cause almost everyone on here does it.
Hell, mine came "riced" out from the factory, and i really dont' care, cause i love it.

Re: Which looks better? (In your opinion)
Eeeekkkk the infamous RICE thread!
Rice has so many definitions (not many in Webster tho), but its all about what a person prefers, you can post a picture of any car, stock or heavily modified and have 10,000 people post their opinion on the car, you will get 50% of the people liking the car and the remaining hating it.
). Now if you want to go flashy then a kit is the way to go, but just make sure you accent it with other nice mods because it could start to not mesh well. (Try mix-matching different kits)
Just my .02 but you keep the change.

Which direction are you trying to go? Are you getting other mods with either choice and if so what are they? Cause if you want to keep it sleek and stockish then the srt-4 bumper AND SIDES WITH REAR (rolled.... highly preferredThis Ya Boy wrote:
That is the Kaminari front for a SRT-4 and I was considering to maybe get this if I do the swap. Mind you I'd be getting the srt hood too.
or should I just go with the stock srt front bumper?

preach on brotha Lambo... i'm with you 100% of the way. STOCK SUCKS!!!!
i too am a ricer, and proud of it.
why would anybody spend money to have a stock looking car?
just dosen't make sense to me.
and for TNK... how many e-blue srts with carbon fiber hood and bronze rims have you seen? its quite a few i'm sure...

uhh.. sorry if stock looks better...
all i know is that i wouldn't spend money to make it look like crap.
aka.. put a body kit on my car.
but thats just my taste.
maybe they will change maybe they wont..
i still stick with the idea, that it's your car, do what you want with it.

I always thought rice was for Asian cars, since that is what the whole stigma is about it.
I have seen some American built cars looking "riced-out" that have asian characters on them, and huge exhaust tips and nothign else. I like Sully's "ticket" it shows it well
Also, hate to admit it, Blue and orange do go together. Just in moderation

don't know why you have to get all cranky about what a person thinks.
i never singled you out, don't know why you'd single me out.

and i loved the blue on orange theme.. it's just too bad the bronco... (bears suck) didn't make it this year.
I'm thinking of going back to it eventually i just don't have the money right now.

not cranky at all... and to be honest, i feel that you singled yourself out by staying in this thread and arguing (yes, you were arguing) and trying to state your point. which at the end, i don't even know what your point isTheNumberOneD wrote:we all have diffrent taste.

no.. i don't ever downgrade my thought process from a neon to a viper...
but whenver i see a viper.. i think of a neon
i like some rice.... and i think because so many people have done it poorly and made their cars into ass, it's reflected badly opun the whole community of Ricer modifications.

and i really don't know were i stand cause i've heard it so many diffrent ways, but it's the first time i've heard that Body kits, audio, airbags and stuff werenet classified as rice, and thats what i was tryign to figure out, why they werent.dblsg wrote:not cranky at all... and to be honest, i feel that you singled yourself out by staying in this thread and arguing (yes, you were arguing) and trying to state your point. which at the end, i don't even know what your point is
