installing srt-4 skirts

Post by gilly02le » Tue Feb 20, 2007 11:45 am

picked up some srt-4 side skirts and door trim.. anyone got any advice as to how to mount these.. it looks like i need clip rails to hold the top edge of them, something similar to the "flat hooks" that come with r/t side-skirts from dodgeparts.com.

Anyone else here installed these, and have an easy way for me to install them, id rather not have to drill into the rocker panels of my car tho, so i might look into 3m double sided to hold them on, instead of the plastic clips..

r/t not srt-4.. already checked that out.. the mounting hardware is different, i need the part number for the rails that are specifically for the srt-4.. as my skirts have twice as many mounting clips, as the r/ts do

I just used 3m tape for along the length of the skirts and then screwed them at the wheelwells It only required drilling one hole I believe and they hold nicely. If you're really worried you could drill a few holes underneath the car but as you said -you really don't want to do that.

I don't have the door trim so I really can't help you there. Sorry.

Steelbluepearl, thats exactly what i was hoping to hear from somebody.. i mean, it has like 10 clips on each shirt piece.. but looks like if i took the clips out, i could use 3m two sided tape to attach the skirts properly! and yea, i don't mind drilling into the inside lip of the wheel well, just don't wanna drill into the rockers. And as for the door trim, its easy to install, just the 3m tape, theres still a bit left on there from the last car they were on! however i have to put the side skirts on before the trim, so i can align it properly.

Thats what I did to my rt skirts... I used 3m double-sided tape around on the top... And screwed them in to the wheel wells and haven't fallen off or sagged yet... I do plan on added some screws underneath to be on the safe side though...
