black grill honeycomb

Post by Wenuden » Mon Apr 16, 2007 12:47 am

the black honeycomb behind the mesh in this shot...

http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=46 ... mesh+grill

Is that a structural part of the bumper? I've never seen one off the car, but it appears to be from a glance... I hate the look of it and want to get rid of it.

I was thinking about just dremeling it out if it is, but i havn't looked at it to see if the screw holes are in the areas i want to get rid of. Anyone done this?

If I remove it, is the middle part of the bumper going to be supported by anything at the top? And do you know if I have to remove the entire bumper to get it out?

The center part of the fascia will not be supported if you remove the honeycomb. When I removed mine, I made my own bracket to support the center, and used zip ties to attatch the left and right portions. And yes, you'll have to remove the fascia (very easy).

Neon everything is very easy to remove. The #1 thing that I love about our cars is the ease of working on them!
