Niteshade... Any tips?

Post by SOHCKing03 » Thu Oct 11, 2007 4:19 pm

Any tips for me before I go out and Niteshade my taillights tonight? Certain motion I should spray? Length of time between coats? Anything?

Thanks in advance.

i did mine be very careful not to spray to heavy it will run and then that really sucks..make sure you spray in an even fashion slowly. i did 2 coats on my clear taillights and it came out pretty much black so do 1 coat let it dry for about 10-15 minutes see what it looks like and if its not dark enough spray again.....im sure someone can add more info

Yeah, it does like to run. So keep them as horizontal as possible. You will probably want to do really light coats to prevent running.

Will it be dry to the touch in 10-15 minutes? Do I need to wait until its dry to the touch?

Well I just did about 6-8 light coats and it's not dark at all. How many coats should I expect for a very dark tint?

And it looks as if it will need a clear coat. Does Niteshade generally need a clear coat?

i didn't use clear on my side markers or third brake light. they have only been in use since april.

depending on how light your coats were, you will need many coats
