Someone Please Explain Retrofitting

Well, I actually know what retrofitting is, but I don't know the exact process.

A few things I'd like answered...

1) Where do I buy the projectors?

2) How do I get them to aim properly?

3) They would be illegal right?

4) What are these "depo" headlights I keep reading that you need to buy for a retro?

I am thinking about doing a retrofit projector over this winter using some junkyard headlights. I'll probably add cold cathode Angel Eyes from Oznium.com too. Would all this be possible?

Thanks for the help.

Btw before you post "search n00b!" I did search a lot and I still had a few questions.

Thanks. After looking at the price though, I'll probably have to postpone this lol.

HAHAHA!

I'll look into it. Maybe it'll be my winter and spring project, Then I'll unveil it in the summer.

I guess if I got used bulbs and ballasts that would lower the cost. I just don't get it I need aftermarket headlights or if I can use stock.

I'll read into it more.

I have about 600 into the whole thing and it was one of the best mods I have done to my car. I have a single xenon bosch projector. Theres my contribution to this thread :)

$600?? Jeez.

How much can Xenon projectors, and HID's cost?

I figure if I buy some junkyard headlights, used projectors, and used HID's then I could stay relatively cheap. Is it really THAT expensive or did you go the expensive route?

I went the OEM route, meaning there are no cheap components. My projectors, bulbs, ballast, and ignitors are all OEM that I bought for 400 dollars. Add a set of depo headlights into the mix (you cannot use the stock headlights because of the glue), it adds up quick. That plus materials ended up around 600 dollars. If you can get the projectors and ballast cheaper, then the cost of everything goes down. You can search ebay but you will end up paying as much as me, or you can search hidplanet, they have some good deals but will always be around what I spent.
