Post by krc21 » Sun Jan 13, 2008 11:14 pm

if i were to get a set of projectors from modern how long could i expect them to last? and would the light output be better than just my stock headlights? and can someone post pics of there 03-05 with projectors and where they got them from.

ps you can move this where ever i dunno where i should have put it.

when you get them, you will need to seal them with silicone right away around the edge ...

light output will be 'fair to good' ... esp when compared to stock, cloudy peices ...

some of the 'brightness' is an illusion so to speak .. since you can see a cuttoff .. it appears to be brighter then how the stock units are...

but you can upgrade the bulbs and get them even brighter

i have a set on mine (well the 01 stuff) ... but i am pulling them back off ... mostly because of the adjusters in the housing suck ...

There are several members n the forum that have them ad love them.

The haven't had any problems with them, and love the light output, do a quick dearch and you'll see.

I know Opi has them right now.

i have them.

i suggest an HID kit if you're concerned about the output they produce. at the very least, get some silverstar's...

you'll be able to find pics from myself, and from opi in this thread: http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?t=26899

So if I read that whole linked thread properly is that retrofits are better for even light, but something is bothering me about the retrofits, isn't there no high beams then? It seems to me that this is the case on the retrofits because there is only one headlight, am I not correct in thinking that? If so then WTF is the point of the retrofit? I need high beam and low beam, I am just after A LOT of light on both high and low beams. So I think I will be going with a Ebay set of projectors and a 4300k HID low beam and upgraded halogens in the high beams, which are what bulb BTW? In all the reading I have done about the projectors I can't seem to find out what the hell the high beams are.
