color matching

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

So i have found a silver srt body part doner and i'm wondering how well the 04 srt silver will match my 00 silver paint

If it's the same paint code it should match, but the fading will be different so you may need to buff it a bit to get it closer.

Buffing may not work, as the paint is basecoat/clearcoat. All you will be removing is clear. If the color has faded you will either live with it or paint it. To check if the codes are the same:

Then you hope that the car hasn't been repainted for some reason in the past!
