Got my projectors today...

Post by clancaster23 » Wed Mar 19, 2008 8:54 pm

Finally after three weeks of waiting, I got my projectors. The moron person/company that had them up apparently has a habit of posting things he doesn't even have in stock up for auction then making the buyer wait til he gets them. Plus very crappy communication. If you ever decide to get these, do not buy them from "RokuCreation".

Anyways, I love the look of the lights. Bigger than I thought they would be which I like. Also got another set or clear bumper lights (I already have a set on mine) with these projectors, but these ones are clear, the ones on my car are just the "white" frosted kind. You can actually see the bulb with this set which I like. I can't install the lights right now due to crappy weather and I don't have a garage to do them in so I may wait til I get my HID kit in (just ordered it today) so I don't have to take them out again. I also plan on replacing the three led lights on the sides to amber so I can wire them up with my turns. I do plan on wiring up the halos also, those going with my parking lights. I saw a little how-to in replacing the three led's (taking them out and changing them) but can't seem to find it when I search. Anyone have any clue as to where it is??

edit: Also wanted to ask about sealing the headlight. I see they put some kind of gray stuff around the headlights to seal it with but I have read about some guys eventually still getting moisture inside the lights. Can I use some Permatex Clear RTV silicone adhesive sealant anround the lights just add another layer of protection on them?

I've heard they are size 194 LEDs. I'm guessing its a twist lock fit into the socket, never actually seen them though.

Dang wish you would have said that earlier, I just ordered the black version of the set you got from that seller. We'll see what happens I guess.

Yeah, hopefully it won't happen to you. A severe lack of communication though with them.

Yeah, the led's pull out with a little convincing. After you get the rubber piece out, you just pull the bulb out and pop in another. I believe you may have to change the metal pieces (the connectors) to go on the side. Not sure, that's just how they were when I pulled one out to look at it. I'll probably order the led's tomorrow and have them hopefully Saturday, Monday at the latest.

I got impatient and installed the drivers side light and I couldn't be happier. Got wet and cold so going to wait til tomorrow morning to do the other side and I'll take some pics then.

Ya the side leds just pull out. I have some amber "6 led" bulbs that I am goin to use sitting here right next to me but I haven't had a chance to put them in yet. But that is how I have it. I have the side leds wired up to my blinkers. And then I have the halos wired up to 1. My parking lights so they come on when ever they do. 2. A toggle switch in the cabin with a diode so I am able to turn them on when ever I want to as well with out having to have the parking lights. I love mine. I have hids in mine and they look great.

Got both sides wired up today but was a moron and spliced the wrong wire on the passenger side. Was wondering why they wouldn't come on then realized I probably spliced the wrong wire. Hooked them up to the turn signal instead of the parking wire. So now I have to go back in tonight and hook them up to the right one although once I get my leds and switch them out, I'll have to change over again.... It's nuts! but I love them :)

I'll have pics up after I get them together.

Well I got a tracking number today, thats a plus. I plan on doing the same setup with mine as well. I'm hoping that the ambers will help give some turn signal indication from the sides since the side markers don't blink. :tardbang:

Well the stockers didn't give any so no biggie if they don't although they may glow some light on that side. I finally got mine wired up the right way tonight and I love how they look. My camera takes shitty night pics but if I figure the thing out, I'll post!

Glad to see you got the quick shipping. Must be from the same stock I got mine from.
