well i used to have projectors with HID kit. but what about using HID kit in reg headlight hosuings? any pictures and whats better...... ya Projects with hid rocks but what about reg?

With regular halogen housings you're going to throw light everywhere and blind any oncoming traffic/traffic thats close in front of you. They also attract attention from the 5-0.

most of the people i see around that obviously have an aftermarket hid kit have them in stock housing.... and yeah its pretty obnoxious of them because it is fairly bright .. and ive even seen one that has got to be around 10K purple and its just ridiculous but nobody gets hassled by the police for them.. i might still put them in stock housing though if/when i get a kit.. have not decided because ive seen some high end cars with projectors (bmw, etc) and the light output is crap... so i dunno

I would put HIDs in my stock housings only because the 05 neon projector housings are horrible looking in my opinion and it would kill the look of my car. Cops dont care anymore because so many makes and models now come with HIDS factory installed so its nothing they can do anymore because you can be like it came like that from the dealer.

Thats true...to a point. The cop may not hassle you for just that, but if they need a reason to pull you over it's as good as any.

Some cops know Neon's didn't come with HID's, but even if they don't they can still give you a ticket and you would have go to court to prove your car came with them...which you won't be able to do

Regular headlights are 8000, but i took it down a notch to 6000 for the Projectors

dam those pics really show the difference. Too many cars doing the HIDs in stock housings. Its really annoying during the day. At night its jus unsafe. Im glad ima get proojectors

spencersummerfield dam ur ride is hawt good job man as far as projecotrs vs stock housing i would go with projectors i have heard that hid kits in stock housing can blind people and in case of an accident the other person can say his lights blinded me and u get the point play it safe or ride it out personaly i like both it up to you good luck with your dessision

You're forgetting one thing. 99% of factory hid equipped cars have hid projectors. The other one percent have hid reflectors. Putting hid in a stock housing is retarded. Not only does it look like crap, but it performs like crap as well. If you enjoy blinding other people on the road then go for it. If it were me I would do a retro.

Fyi no cop is going to believe hids came stock in a neon. Sometimes I wish I were a cop, because I would write so many fix it ticket for all the damn ricers.

cmon guys lets not get out of hand we dont have to flame on no one because of what they like or want to do he just simply said that its an idea all we have to do is tell him its a good one or not but we dont have to flame him for it this site is supposed to be for encouragement not discurragement we are a family u member lol

Im not flaming anyone. He made an incorrect assumption so I cleared things up. Im hoping to educate some people on here who dont understand the whole hid concept.

Its not an "incorrect assumption" I have seen HIDs in stock housings and all you have to do is adjust the headlight housing mirrors because the HIDs are now wider and brighter. Where im from its been done correctly without having to dish out extra money for new housings and WITHOUT being a DICK to the community and blinding everyone. You dont have them shining at eye level you point them down to the ground, Where they are needed. I guess no one knows how to adjust headlights hmm? Thats my OPINION, and ive seen it done, For me i have silverstars and they work just fine then dishing 200 for hidsand the time to wire them cleanly. So thats what i gotta say for this one. And yea it may sound a lil hostile but dont jump on me saying its ricerish. A. nothing on my car is rice, b i dont even have hids on my car, and c i was just stating my opinion and what ive seen. Damm

thanks for everyone's input. i always knew i was getting again HID with projects. The same setup like my last one ebay HID's which are great from a certain ebay seller and projectors. The temp. i'm getting is 4300k. They are the brightest. I'll post pics again.... sooon end of this month.

Im all for projectors with HIDs but IMO the options other then making your own look cheap. I dont want "angel eyes" and all the leds in there. I just want black projectors without all the flashy stuff.

well the angel eyes suck. They don't look anywhere good and BMW. I plan on not connecting them and getting the black housing.

Honestly the projectors are 100x better than regular housings.

I have 4300K in my projectors and I just installed 6000K in my friends projectors.

Both our cars light up the whole street but never go above headlight level. We have driven by each other and there is no glare.

DO NOT go with HID in regular housings.

And you can always open up your headlights to remove the LEDs and angel eyes.

If you have to point your headlights down that far, whats the point of having them? Yes you can aim headlights, but there is that little thing called glare, which happens above the cutoff line. In order to get that glare below other drivers eye level, you would have to point your headlights down really far. See my point?
