Tinted or TYC tails?

Went to the local parts store and got me a can of tail tint and tried it out on my stockers. I currently have the TYC's on and like them although that's not the general concensus. So, painted them up. Put about four coats on them although I think that may have been too many. I placed one in and checked it out. I'm kind of up in the air about it. Really don't like the white backup area around the black. Also, may have made it too dark. If I choose the tinted ones, I'm not sure I get enough light output through the tint. Waiting til it gets dark to see what it looks like then. What do you guys think, tinted stocks or keep the TYC's on?
On comparing to the TYC's. I guess if I go tinted, I'll have to hit the third brake too.
The other one waiting to be put on if I go this way.
If I applied too much, is there any way to remove this stuff and start over??

Or tint the TYC ones. Glasswars did that, they looked sweet.

Tinted > Chrome Altezzas, however that's too dark. Either wet sand them, or carefully use lacquer thinner to remove that VHT stuff. I'd go with only one or two coats, and I don't know what part of PA you live in but I know around here It wouldn't be long before the cops would be hassling you for those. I think when done right they look great, however, it's hard to dismiss the the school of thought that says that they are there for your and others' safety, don't mess with them. It's up to you. Whatever you do, choose wisely!

Oh oh. I thought you tinted the TYC lamps and they came out like that. Go with TYC; They're comparatively better.

Maybe I missed something, but once tinted, won't the tyc's look almost similar to the tinted stockers?
If so, why not use the stockers, and sell the tyc's and use the money for your next mod?

can you tell me how you got off your tail light assembly, and was it hard to tint them and what did you use?
i have a 02' black R/T and i've been thinking about tinting the tail lights, but i live in jersey and its kinda of illegal lol.
But i still want to go ahead and do it, so can some body help me out?
sorry if i steal the spot light lol, and i do like the tinted ones better, not into the flashy chrome in the TYC tail lights.

I like the TYC tails, but the tinted stock ones look better. Tinted TYC tails would look really nice as long as you don't go too dark.

its illegal were i live but most cops dont care because they emit light up to 500 feet so
There are three bolts when you open your trunkthat hold the taillight on not sure the socket size could be a 13. and then there is this little black thing with a screw in it that sits ontop of your bumper. you have to take that off. Then unhook the lights and Viola
tinting is easy its just like painting take your time

I'm not doing either one. I tested one of my TYC's and still don't like the look. Got some lacquer thinner and took it all off. Ah well, doesn't hurt to try. Guess my next mod will have to be the SRT spoiler I will be getting on Thursday
By the way, you don't have to remove that little screw on the bumper to remove the tail lights. The light assembly will come off without removing the screw.
thanks!
