Price for paint?

Post by clancaster23 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 11:20 pm

What does a can of the PX8 paint from the dealer cost? I am considering doing my side skirts myself and if I do, need to get me some. Just wondering what price to expect. Would one can be enough to do both sides or should I go for two?

Anyone have any tips in painting these? I so want them to come out nice.

Are you talking about the aerosol cans? If so they are very tiny, and over $10 a piece. If you're talking about actual professional grade paint from the dealer I'm not sure what they charge, but its probably too much.

Well I was talking about the cans you get from the dealer. I may just go with the "aftermarket" replacement and do them with it. I doubt there is that much difference in a black color.

PX8 is straight black, unlike some other OEM blacks that have yellow, red, blue, white, etc. mixed into them the PX8 does not. Anything straight black will do.

For reference, my little cans were $8. I needed 4 of them to do the grill, scoop insert, mirrors, c pillars, and corner markers. Keep in mind I did several coats.
