has anyone ever seen a 2000-01 neon with the little grill bar removed and hella horns installed like on alot of subarus. Like one of my friends on his WRX.

Nice. No grille here, But i don't have those hardcore horns either... Those look way to slick to just be horns, hahaha. Probably Hella expensive for those mawfs too...

Yeah he has a grill bu the point is that its recest under the hood a little. And their not crazy expensive..like 60-80 bucks for the two and the're pretty decently loud.

I never understood why people did that with their horns. I like my horn hidden....I don't think horns are meant to be seen (at least not horns like that, air horns are another story). What is the purpose of showing them off like that anyways? Does anyone know? It does seem to be strictly a subaru thing.

Perhaps to be heard better ?? :? I imagine that would help acoustics....

My Neon factory horns are pretty wimpy.

Maybe they didn't sound that way when they were new, but they do now, and other driver's might not be able to hear them over their stereo, etc., in a panic situation.

Plus the horn location in a Neon (under the bumper) doesn't help the acoustics, either. :?

I have a freeway blaster low and it does just fine. People hear me well. LOL
