03+ eyelids on 02?

Post by arlenok » Mon Jul 28, 2008 3:21 pm

Hey, I've been trying to find an answer to this question, with no luck: Would I be able to use srt or 03+ fiberglass eyelids on an 02 neon? Other than the turn signal, is the headlight housing shaped any differently? Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out

Great, thanks! I'm just double checking because of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0275110417
The guy says that his don't fit 00-02. I guess I'll just order them and try 'em out.

I'm pretty sure they need to be modified in some way. Heat them up and form them to the headlights is all.

With a hairdryer/heatgun, right? I don't like modifying my own hair so if I gotta modify these I probably won't even buy them.

:laughing3: modify my hair.... nice..
yeah a heat gun should do the trick, just don't keep the heat in one spot or you will warp or even burn the fiberglas or your headlight.... Once you think that you have it fitted correctly, then pour cool water on the it and dry it off.. that should hold it to its new form...

The top half the the headlamp that follows the fender and hood is the same. The lower half that fits against the bumper extends farther down on the '03+ so they're taller than 00-02 headlamps.

So then do they really have to be modified?

I know this thread is pretty dead, but I finally got the 03 eyelids, and the way they are shaped is very different than the 02 housing. I did my best to put them on, but I ended up wrinkling too much of it. Moral of the story is that they didn't fit.
