ok so i just got projectors for my car and put HIDs in them...and i notice that alot of the light goes straight down like 4 or 5 feet from the car theres this big spot of light....now there may not be such a thing, yet. but i work at work when i drive in a car with HIDs from the factory i see that there are 2 cut off lines...one at the top, then another at the bottom. so that more of the light is actually "projected" out and not down....does all the projectors do this for the neon, just have that big spot like 4 or 5 feet from the car?

If you bought the aftermarket projectors you are going to get what's called hotspots. They aren't going to look as smooth and formed as OEM projectors would look. The aftermarket ones have very strange light patterns and with HIDs in them (which on the back it says not to run, they melt the housings) they get even stranger. Post up some pictures though so we can help you further.

I though HID lights run cooler than normal headlights.

You asked for help regarding if there were projectors that looked like the ones that are at your work. I gave you the answer. There aren't unless you buy OEM HID projectors (and retrofit them like mine are) like I said. I asked you to post pictures up of the output of your lights. That way we could help you further in regards to the problem of how they look. But it sounds like hotspots and cheap ass projectors that really aren't even projectors at all. What Kelvin rating is your HID kit?
HIDs do run cooler but if you read a few threads on SRTForums that have run HIDs with those housings the housings have melted. I'm not entirely sure why, it makes no sense to me. Maybe because the HID bulb is longer than the halogen bulb it sat closer to the glass on the projector (because that is what melted). I don't have an exact answer for that, just what other people who have owned them had issue with.

My friend has the modern projectors with HID's...the output is really shitty IMO. Even he admits he had better output in stock housings.

Yeah unless you retrofit you're gonna have shitty output. The 6k isn't bad for kelvin ratings although 4300k is ideal. Here is output with a retrofitted headlight Valeo H7 3" Projectors, 4300K kit, my car:

so you can go out and buy aftermarket projectors and then go out and buy oem type projectors and pretty much swap them out?....how much did that cost you?
