bulb compatibility

Post by supermike » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:11 pm

I have a 2000, and I was wondering what all bulbs will fit in my foglights. Stock is 898, but I'm a little partial to Silverstars, and they don't come in 898. I hear 893s fit, but they don't have the 90 degree elbow, should that matter? H11s seem to be the same as 898s, but if they are, why are they called something different? What voltages can I run without melting things? Also, anyone know how to get the foglights to stay on with the high beams? I use my high beams regularly and think the fog lights would do a great job of filling in the darkish area right in front of the car, especially with some better bulbs.

Lemme go look. I've bulbs galore outside. Also you can get your fogs to stay on with your high beams if you hold your MFS back, but that also fries the switch, and all of your lights.

EDIT: All I can find are packages and lights of the 893 variety. I found another light, but the part where it tells you what it is is busted, so who knows what the number is.

This is hypothetical of course, but if I'd just hold the MFS back, the low beams would be on too, eliminating the need to have the foglights on with high beams...... I think.
