yellow foglights
yellow foglights
so i just got a set of stock fog lights and i'm wondering what the best looking method would be to make them have a yellow light
i don't know if there is yellow bulbs that light well enough to look good or if i'll just have to put yellow over the lense, i want them to look good and i'm not sure how putting yellow over the lense will look
any opinions on what i should do?

Yellow bulbs are the easiest way to go. Works fine.
The yellow film over the lense is also an option, but a less common way to go about it.

Stained glass is the easiest way

I personally am not a fan of the yellow fogs at all. Especially considering my HIDs are so white

I've seen studies that say the opposite, that there is no one color that keeps the water droplets from reflecting the light.Swordfish2Cowboy wrote:Post pics. Not sure if I want to get yellow for mine or not. Crystal says yellow is the best for cutting through fog, has some sort of scientific study to prove it, too.
But that isn't the issue at hand. If you decide to make the lens yellow, use something that can handle the heat from the bulb. I think a yellow tinted, or one that produces yellow light is the best option, unless you are just going for looks, weather the lights are on or off.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

yea its mostly about looks so i dont know if it would look better to just put in a yellow bulb and have the clear fog light look or actually cover the whole lens with some sort of yellow tint or film.
It is the 00-02 fogs so they are a little bigger but anyways i'm juss wondering what would look better.

I have 3K hids in my foglights, but before that had Nokya Yellow bulbs and some other Japanese brand yellow bulb as well. They worked well. Eurodezigns is another brand that sells yellow bulbs that aren't too shabby.
Yellow is stated to cut through fog best. I have the study somewhere, though of course you will find studies that counter it. Thats always the case regardless of what you are researching.

Probably has to do with the fact that yellow light has a longer wavelength and therefore doesn't scatter as easily as violet or blue light. Red would be optimal, but illegal in your foglights obviously. It's the same reason that the sky appears as blueLilSparkPlug wrote:I've had bulbs, and bulbs and film. The yellow film looked great on my black car, not so great on the pink. So I bought new foglights and tinted them, since its more aesthetically pleasing. RockBlocker is the way to go if you do film though. Thats whats on mine, only its tinted.
