As long as they are "DOT Approved" and there is a DOT number or similiar molded on it or paperwork to verify, you should be good.
DOT = Department Of Transportation.

It depends on how strict your county is. Usually LED tails are fine as long as they emit red light.

A HID kit is illegal if you view the sticky.
If your car did not come with HID's from the factory it is illegal to put them on. Don't tell the DMV you have them installed!

Wow. That sucks. All they do here is emissions. That is it. I was playing with my air ride in line waiting. I have after market tails and projectors with HIDs. They thought it was cool hahaha.

yeah the DMV here is a pain in the ass... they failed me once for the rubber being bad on one of my wiper blades and because i spent 2 hours in line theyre were closing soon.. so they said the only thing I can do is to pay $10 for the form to drive the car home and to a place to get it fixed and i had to run the car through again.. I just drove home illegally even though it wasnt raining
but we dont have to have front plates or stickers in the windows so i'm happy

I would rather have to have front plates than go through that nonsense. Pay 10 bucks to drive with shitty blades? Fuck that. My car would never pass with my air ride, headlights, tails, 3rd brake light, no air bags, aftermarket steering wheel, racing seats, 4 point harnesses, etc. They would laugh me out of there hahaha.

Ohio FTW! There are only a handful of countys that need E-check. Other than that, it's drive to the BMV, pay your fee and on your way. Now getting a salvage inspection is a bit more hair raising.

Fixed. Also, do you know which ones? I'm betting the area around Cleveland and maybe Cinci. They're shitholes as is.

In Maine....There's no E-Check, smog, etc...just a 'standard inspection.' the place I go, they put it on a lift, make sure everything seems 'tight' (tierod ends, exhaust, etc...) and make sure lights, etc. work....then a sticker..........
Maine has front plates, front plates FTL
