hid bulb changing

sooo i know that the stock housing takes 9007 bulbs but if i get projects and if they require a bulb thats a different size can i just change it? or is it more difficult then that lol

also i remember seeing a heat chart on here that showed wat each temperature looked like but i can't find it.
