cant you just put a spark plug in the exhaust and give the plug power, OR since it is an exhaust would there be enough unburnt material to even ignite?

You probably are going to have to remove your cat in order to get flames like that no?

probably not.. i thought there were some systems that would dump some gas into the exhaust and spark it.
I may be horribly wrong though.

I think it looks pretty cool...But I wouldn't spend any money to get one.

My car does it naturally, off the rev-limiter or on redline shifts. I wouldnt waste money on a kit though, but thats just me.

it would look sweet and im sure people would love it and "ahhh" over it but dont know if its worth the money unless you got a lot of disposable cash

I love that for someone who wont get off my ass. My buddys tercel shot a good 4 ft flame trying to go over 90.

nope, you're exactly right. I think autoloc makes the same kit. It's not street legal obviously....

Autoloc does make a kit. If the flames would shoot out both tailpipes at the same time then i would say do it. It looks stupid having two pipes and only one lit up.

Yes, but that's cuz you have power.
HAHAHAH @ this. This is as bad as putting a BOV speaker in your engine bay.

I'm still curious on your side exit not being loud.
It absolutely blows my mind.
Side Exit = Loud sexyness = Mindfuck

I remember seeing something like this on the Trucks show that was on TNN (now Spike)
It was a system that make your car run rich so that the exhaust coming out had un burnt fuel in it. This connected with a spark plug and coil pack on a switch allowed for some amazing looking flames out of an old show truck.
Looking at the video that guy had though, I can see that it would be very dangerous. There is no control of the spread and reaction of the flame. I think you could easily light something on fire on or near your car with out even knowing it.
Still an intresting thought though.

This idea dates back to the 50's. Guys would run their carbs rich as hell, and run a spark plug wire (with a plug in it) to tail pipe. With a flip of the switch, the plug would ignite the un-burnt fuel and Viola, instant fireball!

my car does it on its own too...but that just cuz i accidentally ran over a 2-liter mountain dew bottle and my o2 sensor wire must have been hanging anf the bottle ripped it out...so it runs RICH as hell but....ya i should prolly get that fixed....
