HID start off white, then dim to halogen yellow?

Yeah more or less after they are on for a minute or two my 5000K hids go from nice white to dull yellow basically.. if you look at the car they still look white, but what you see while driving is dull stock yellowish. at this point the high beams are brighter...
is that just a bad quality bulb or what?

That is what 5000k is
You should've bought 6000k

According to the sticky, 5000K is suppose to be pure white. No blue. No yellow.

exactly.. 4300-5000k is all white, and 6000k starts getting a bit blue..
for the first week or so the bulbs stayed white.. now they are doing this for the last couple days..

When bulbs start going bad, they will burn a yellowish brownish color before they die.

What brand are they?

they came in a JD Lighting HID kit (55watt), but i dont know if the bulbs are the same brand or something else.. the bulb container doesnt have a brand listed

I'd say contact the seller and see if you can get them replaced.
