I'm in a pickle here, guys, and would like to see if any of you who have installed this would like to help me.

I recently (well, a month ago) paid one of my friends brothers to install and paint the whole kit for dirt cheap. Because he didnt have the tools to do the side skirts, we only applied the front and the rear with the side skirts supposedly finished in the next week.

4 weeks later all I ever get is "I'll call ya when I'm free" which is basically never.


So question is....anyone live around Charlotte, NC that would be able to help me put this on? Name a negotiable price and we can work from there. I would prefer someone who has either A.) installed one already or B.) very knowledgable about this.

Just follow the instructions and it's easy to do yourself!

My main question, however, is what "tools" didn't he have? All you need for the sideskirts is a drill and something to warm up the glue on the adhesive strips?

It's not hard at all to install the sideskirts. You don't need anymore tools that you would've for the front or back... all you really need is a drill, bit adapter for said drill, tape measure, duct tape, floor jack, and maybe a dremel.

Look in my post here and I show what you need to do. it's easy. do it yourself. It won't cost you anything and you'll feel a sense of accomplishment

What ^ said. Plus, if you screw them up, people are selling them more on the forum, so you can always buy another set!

Hey man, I live in Jacksonville. I haven't installed mine yet, but plan on it when the weather's nice.

He didn't have a dremmel or the drill to go through the rockers. If you could tell me exactly what drill, drill bit, etc. that i need to get through the car, hell ill lose 60 bucks and do it my damn self. Thanks for all the tips.

Um. You use a drill with the phillips head bit on it. The pieces come with self tapping screws, and they'll go through the sheet metal fairly easily, that's all you need really.

Do you actually have to trim the fender well? Or can the front piece go right over it?

You trim the fender liner, the plastic piece. If you don't have a dremel you can use a utility knife too.

OK. That's what I was thinking when I put the pieces up to see what they would look like.

To the previous post, What drill did you use? I have one of the battery powered drills that hooks up to the wall to charge the batteries and I have a feeling that those will die out quick because of the rockers thickness.

I used a regular corded drill, but I imagine you should be OK with a cordless one...

Great. After all this up and down weather here in NC (75 this past weekend to snow tomorrow? wtf?!) I think i might take a day off work and make a it a day project.

If anything, Ill bring my computer outside so for those of you who have done it, can walk me through it.

Yea, I took advantage of that warm weekend to tint my taillights. And now I need to kinda fix it since I didn't clear it correctly oh well...

Good luck on the install! I'm actually going to try mine tomorrow since it's suppose to rain Monday.

I used a cordless drill. It works just fine. It comes with self tapping screws and the rockers aren't very thick at all. As long as the drill is charged it's very simple. Just follow the instructions and you can't screw up. And yes you have the trim the fender liner because the skirt will not go over that molded in splash guard. I started to cut it with a hacksaw. Anything will work really.

Hey sidepipe87, what bit did you use? I bought the three that you needed for the front and rear lip (1/4, 1/8/ and 5/16), but was just curious as to what everyone used for the side skirt ones since it doesn't say in the instructions.

Honestly, I don't remember. I just used a small bit to start the holes for the screws that hold the plastic hanger on the rocker, then screwed the screws in. For the screws that actually attach the skirt underneath the car I simply screwed them in with the cordless drill since they are self-tapping screws anyway.

I plan to install mines in the summer when I get my whole car painted.

But damn is it bothering me just sitting around my house uninstalled!!! Makes me want to put them on even though its not painted to match yet.

This is exactly how I feel minus the painted part. It's aggravating the piss out of of me to see these sit in the garage uninstalled. Once I get this paper done for english I think I may take a day off work and go buy the necessary utilities and apply them myself.
