Got my hood in today!!

YAY!!!

Wait...

I open the box and the driver side rear corner was 'rolled' under and the paint was blasted off down to the metal... wth... Call the guy and he makes the insurance claim with UPS... they're picking it up tomorrow.. 200 was put on it... so.. do you think it's repairable? (a little bondo and paint) it looks like it can be bent back up and repaired. anyone ever have this happened or know if it can be fixed?

Here's what it looks like...

Image

how much do you think I'm looking at in repairs?

lets make a game out of it.

Its very easy to repair with a hammer and dolly. Its about an hour to repair. $38-$44. I get hoods all the time that bend like that. Its from the very careful delivery people that pick up the hood and slam it around on the ends. Atleast it wasnt the top.

last winter in a snow stormsome dirty dish rag abandoned her car on a blind coner needless to say i'm the guy that found it,.... with my front end anyway the hood was all rippled from where the car i hit came up on the hood and that was fixable you can't even tell now and that only took like a week or so to fix so i'd say yours is gonna be just fine

Less than $100 to straightening it out, you're still going to have to pay to get it painted afterwards.

Either way it's not your fault, it's UPS's fault so they should have to pay to get it repaired... so what's the problem?

Same thing happened to me last month. I lost about 50 dollars that Fedex wouldn't cover. Took the hood to 3 shops. All told me that the hood was not worth repairing. None would even give me an estimate. Both my corners were rolled just like that and a crease on the left side. Good luck with the claims adjuster. Took me 3 weeks to get a check. They told me that it wasn't their fault and didn't have to pay anything. I got a lawyer friend of mine to talk to her and got a settlement the next day.
