03 sxt Bumper swap with 2002 SE bumper.....

Hello everyone,

I need to replace my stock 03' SXT front bumper, but my major hangup is that I dont want to get just the same thing over again. I'd love to get the front bumper off of a ES model, would that fit? i know i would need a butt load of parts, but I can deal with that. I just want that look. if it wont fit, does anybody have any suggestions? I want something that looks better then just the plain ol' stock sxt clip. Idealy,Id like to spend no more then 300.00. with paint? idk brainstorming session!

Everything bolts up fine, you will just want to get 00-02 headlights if you get an 00-02 bumper cover.

k... thats awesome news.... k, now another question. will my aftermarked side markers fit into the new 01 bumper? and how about eyelids? I have some fiberglass ones now, and I'd hate to get rid of em.

Side markers - yes

Eyelids - I dont believe so. Although I think I remember hearing that you can fit 03+ eyelids, with some work, over the 00+.

Wait a second...are you asking for an ES 03+ bumper or an earlier bumper? Because your title says 03+...

03+ will fit - nothing changed out

00-02 will need 00-02 lights

they made the ES Models in 03? i thaught they dropped that in 02? are the 03' bumpers the same as the 01's???

00-01 bumpers are different than the '02 ones,
00-02 bumpers headlights have the blinker separated from the headlight.
03+ bumpers have the single headlight with the blinker integrated in the headlight.
also,
there is not such a thing as 03 ES.

00-02 : SE, ES, ACR, R/T, Highline
03-05 : SXT, SE, R/T, SRT-4, SRT-4 ACR

not to mention the difference between the rear bumpers, lips and side skirts.

oh crap LOL I meant SE... haha well if I went with a 03 SE front bumper, I could keep my existing black bezel headlights? and my eyelids?

EDIT:
just went to google images and looked to c what a 2003 SE clip looked like, its the same as what Ive already got, and thats what I'm trying to stay away from. I'll have to go with a 2002 bumper, and pay for the new headlights/signals...... unless some1 has them already and would wana trade me for my smoked black bezel's........

The headlight and turnsignals are in one assembly. So you need both headlight assemblies.

That should be it.

what about grille mesh and trim and all that expensive crap??? lol and the driving lights?? I dont care about the grille inserts tho, cuz im doing my own with aluminum grating from work, and im gona have that powdercoated red........

im gona try and buy used where ever possible, and the old bumper is screwed up, so I doubt you want it. and in response to 2005 SXT- sorry for trying to learn, I thaught thats what forums were for...silly me! haha

I need a POS bumper for the winter months so my SRT bumper doesn't get torn up anymore, so as long as the thing can be attached to the car and i can put my plate on it i dont care how it looks. LMK
