is $100 dollars a good price for slightly damaged srt wheels? i am gettting some pics today so i can determine whether the are even worth 100. but this local guy took his wheels to Meineke and all 4 wheels have small swirl marks on them so he sued and got a set of 17" Motegi DP10's. anyways my plans are to paint them black so i dont think the swirl marks are a problem. good price? ya na?

Im working on getting pics up, but last month I finally finished my SRT wheels and they have a polished face with black as the inner grooves, it looks good...

if yourare just going to paint them anyways, then i would consider it a really good deal, as long as they arent bent or dented or curbed or anything.

i would wait to see the pics to decide for sure, but id probably be all over that if i were you.

thats what I did whith mine, mine had curb rash and road damage. I stripped the paint, grinded with 60 and 80 gritt cookies. Then hit the wheels with 180grit D/A and then 600 gritt D/A. They came out great, and they dont look like they were ever bouncing off curbs

hate to tell u blackrose ur speedo is not correct if u have 205/40/17's if you do the calculations (which i am not typing out) you are actually driving 2 MPH SLOWER then what ur speedo shows!

just fyi for ya

I am very much aware of this, too. If you check on the org, they have that formula stickied somewhere. I'm currently running 205/40/17.

64.39 mph when speedo reads 65mph

my car was orgionally equiped with 195/50/16's and the 205/40/17's
now 215's are even closer in diameter, but I dont know if they will clear the struts. 215/40's would be nice since there 8.5inches wide Vs my stock 7.7inch. But when I only payed $50 for new 205/40's im not comlaigning

buy them. its an easy fix bro. If you have gashes in the wheels this is what you should do. Remember you MUST get your wheels balanced after you do this.

get some JB weld, a razor(flat, brand new) duplicolor wheel paint, sand paper and a medium sized and medium coarsed metal file.

Sand the area where the rash is. Mix some JB weld and apply it to the area. Its going to take a few hours for it to cure up to a workable state. Every hour or so watch it. As it hardends just tap it with the razor blade until you see that its hard yet the razor can just cut it with some force.

Take the razor and keep it as flat to the edge of the rest of the wheels surface and begin to trim the excess JB weld from the wheel. Once your done there let the JB weld sit overnight so it can cure fully.

Once its cured then take the file and begin to shape the JB weld to conform with the rest of the wheels curves. Sand the area flush and then paint. :)
