Two tone paint, Body kit, And what rims?

I like my car the way it is but want to go to the next step. I want to paint it two tone. Black on top red on bottom. The stripes I have now would be removed and painted on in red. I am planning on replacing the hood, trunk, and spoiler with carbon fiber versions of the same type. Revolution motorsports use to have a kevlar/carbon hood for my car in red but its not on there anymore...does anyone know of any companies still doing that? Was looking for a body kit similar to the invader kit for the 90 - 93 toyota celica that is on AutoSportz.com. I'm pretty good with fiberglass and bondo so I can modify kits fairly easy. Going back with the dual exhaust outlets so that is a factor to. And what about the rims? I would like to stay with 17" but I will probally go wider with a spacer behind the rim for clearance. Any suggestions? Or can anyone make a photochop of what it might look like?

Hey!!! You live in Baton Rouge and I live in New Orleans! We are 1 hour away from each other. We gotta meet up sometime and take some pictures of our cars together!

Do you mean this kit here? http://www.autosportz.com/bodykits_90-9 ... ader_2.htm
I can see you modifying the side skirts and rear bumper to fit, but the front bumper looks too curvy and requires a lot of work.

I think your plans are pretty good. I would like to see how the final product looks. Are you painting it yourself?

I would love to photoshop your car, but I don't have any pics to work on. Can you please give me some good pics of your car?

When do you plan to get CF hood trunk and wing combo? I need an SRT hood badly, and maybe I can take your stock hood off your hands?

Its going to lowered... tein coil overs w/ pillow ball upper mounts and edfc. I like my front bumper...just not the back...maybe kamanari rear and side skirts with the dual pipes in middle. And yes that is decals down the sides. The shop that I bought my parts from gave me a 10% discount for putting them on there. I didn't like them at first, but they grew on me. Once the car is painted the design will flow better.

honestly what i think is that you need a reality check talking about 25 lbs of boost and 750 to 1000 hp just have fun with your car and dont try to be something you are not unless you want to get flamed on and laughed off the forum im not trying to be an ass just watching out for you the first thing i can say is read read read and learn about the neon then start working on it and if you need any help whatsoever just let us know thats what we are all here for

OK...I see where this is going

First off if I wanted to be told what I couldn't do I would go back to the other dodge and srt forums. Second I have been drag racing and building hot rods for almost 15 years. If I can put a 454 in a S-10 pickup run in the 8's consistantly, build and race a 91 toyota celica gt-4 with over 700hp, and build, fabricate, and race a 98 dakota with over 1500hp on nitrometh that does over 210 in the quarter... dont tell me I'm a quote "poser" or whatever you want to call it. I work very hard for my money and if I want to throw it away into building a 2000hp neon thats what I'll do. I don't mind a lil bashing here and there. but that was uncalled for. I have been a neon owner since 96 and this is my forth one. I have done my research and its always the same thing "can't be done" I am working with another forum member right now on designing a turbo system that will very well put down those numbers. Check on this...Shaun Carlson...pro front wheel drive... SRT-4 neon was putting down 1600hp in 05-06.

:cussing: :banghead:

And by the way...post in the right forum...we were talking exterior body and paint!

Oh my...I think, with that bumper, there would be a very big parachute effect on your car if you are planning on 2000hp...

If I were you, I'd leave the body as-is and put your money more towards this 'power' you are looking for...

Has to be esteinmaier. LOL! He has to be the only one crazy enough to do it successfully. Psydwynder, a word of advice, Take it easy and post with some humility, be kind, and don't try so hard to impress. Just my 2ยข.

Good luck with your build & I hope it is everything your expecting.

OP- For the record, what all is done to the car? These guys make a good point... Hmmm.

The eibach springs were sold six months ago. I never said I had been tuning neons since 96. I said I have owned 4 neons. The stickers are coming off anyway. I'm not gonna take them off till the car is painted because of the fact the paint is a different color underneath. I dont want just an all out race car. I want a car that I like the way it looks and it has the power to back it up. I'm not trying to step on anyones toes. Looking for advice and some help.

your guna get alot of different opinions here, for one no one here seems to like body kits. In all honesty most make the Neon look like shit. I aint saying its the greatest visually but it has some appeal and body kits dont seem to add to it.

Just relax and take wat members here say as an honest opinion. Thats really wat your guna get. This is a great bunch of people with lots of knowledge of the neon. there have been lots of people that have come here n argued with members, got shitted on, and then left.

hey bro we are not trying to talk shit just take what we say as a grain of salt in the end you drive the car every day and you should build it to how ever you like we are just saying you dont have to impress anyone and like stated before just have fun lots of fun with the neon and read and learn as much as you can about it

Fuzzy dice!!!

Other than the decals car looks nice. I was looking at a red SRT-D before i bought my R/T, probobly would have bought it if it hadn't been an automatic.

what do you have molded into to dash above the hvac?

Agreed

I have got alot of help from members and I thank them for that. I do love my car and It's a blast to drive. I have fun everytime I turn a wrench on it or get behind the wheel. That's not gonna change. I appreciate the honesty... I really wasn't trying to impress anyone...my questions were serious and my goals are what I say they are. Hey, ya'll are probally right, I might not get 750 to 1000hp... But hey I'll probally land pretty high on that hp ladder anyway. No hard feelings. I'm not going anywhere.
