Dark Taillights

can anyone get a pic with there brakelights on in the day time? i am looking to do this to the tails i should be getting anyday now, but i want people to know i have the brake lights on during the day before i do it.

if it comes out to dark cant the nite shade be wetsanded down to make it lighter?

Not how the law works unfortionately...If your vehicle is manufactured with 3 brake lights then they ALL have to be clear enough to see...and Here in Ontario and most of the country of Canada under the highway traffic act it is ILLEGAL to alter your safety markers and lights that could complrimise the safe opperation of a vehicle. So tinting is technically illegal and all these are subjuect to an officers discretion...i'm gonna do it to mine but just a little...

(Iknow this cause i worked as an Auxillary OPP officer for a while and did traffic patrol alot lol)

Can't wait to get mine done beg. of August when he has an opening! Going to look so sick on my car.

I think I am going to have him tint my clear third brake light too thats collecting dust. =)

yeah, well good thing most cops dont know neons, i have no side markers, and no third brake light, lol.... but u r right. it gives cops one more reason to pull people that modify there cars

Your frikin lucky then lol..Cause up here the police look and notice that stuff. We don't have to much stuff going on and in my area there is a Municipal, Provincial and Military police officer that all have a neon lol. So it's shitty that they have them cause one would never know if they would notice the differences lol...And they LOVE stopping the done up cars around here lol, it's like a past time to them lol

how many layers is that? and did u niteshade the whole tail? or cut out the backuplights? the backup lights look almost stock color?

like 3-4 thicker layers. Not a layer that is where you push the button for a second on the vht and your're done. A couple good coverage swipes each layer, just not enough to make a run.

And I taped off my reverse lights because I like how lsp's looks.

Thats pretty dark...don't think i'm gonna go that dark...but I like the reverse light idea...wouldn't have thought about it myself...

Oh and where do you get this "nightshade" stuff? that specifically to do this kinda work?

most local parts stores can get it honestly. it is pritty pricey, around 12 dollars a can

It comes out well enough in person. I'll try to get some shots of mine before the boards and then after the boards for comparison.

Hmmm after looking over the OB pictures I am not sure if I am going to have him mask off the clear portion.... For some reason I don't like the look of the tails with the brake light on and you see that clear portion.. it collides with each other. Might have to do witht he stickers on the trunk or something.. I gotta go look at brodies progress log

I sprayed over my reverse light area. Of course, I didn't go dark at all really, just enough to where you can tell they are tinted. I can still see just fine at night.

I am thinkin maybe tint the reverse lights enough to see that their tinted and tint the rest the way that heydockyle has his...thats what i'm thinking of doing...

I asked a cop about them last night and he said he won't do anything and doubt any others will bother me, but never said it was legal lol.

Yeah...sounds like an idea. I am leaning towards of jsut having them tinted, but I want to se more picts of tinted stock tails. Some that aren't so dark and look good.

i am going to cut out the spot for the rear markers i am thinking, then go over with like one coat of the nightshade, rest of the tail might have five to six coats, just to give it kinda a all black look, led light boards, and i think they will work out fine.... but time will tell i guess!!!
