I bought a 02 bumper and i really really do not want to put holes in my brand new bumper but my dad won't let me put it on the car unless it has a plate on the front. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where i should mount it.

go to home depot, get some strips of metal and make brackets that attach to the bottom where you can't see the holes.

great idea because there are holes down there anyways for that snow pusher airdam lol. I think that is what i'm gonna do unless other ideas come up that i might like.

Can you put it to your passenger visor back?

No it must be on the front of the vehicle in plain sight. Also the zipties i won't do because i don't want them rubbing and ruining the paint.

technically if you kept the passenger visor down it would be in plain sight. best bet is probably th e home depot idea with the bent strips of metal.

i just don't want cops giving me shit about it so i guess i'll have to do that home depot idea.

They make hideaway license plate brackets, Swift Motorsports carries a motorized one and a regular one (at last check a few months ago). Not sure if you would want something like that or not.

If you are getting the chunks of metal and removing and replacing the bumpers, mount the strips to the metal crash bar. Mount the strips on the bottom side of that so that the plate ends up inside the bumper near the rad. Right now I have mine "mounted" on my dash and got a ticket for not having on the front instead of a speeding ticket. So I am leaving mine there, I'll take the "front plate not visible" ticket with no points over speeding and 3 points any day!

What's a 'front liscence plate'?

no front plate required in the state 'O Michigan..

one of the VERY few advantages to this state.

That doesn't fly in many states. Many states require that the plate must be at the front of the vehicle, in the OEM mounting spot when one exists. Whether or not you get pulled over is all up to your local authorities though.

Go Eurotrash style, zip tie it to the lower portion of the bumper, and bend the shit outta the plate so it wraps under the bumper.

If you do go for the strips of metal, make sure you either put some sort of cushion between the bumper and the brackets or make sure those strips are very secure. Attaching them to the airdam will make them bounce around and chip the paint off. I know from experience. :-P

lol i don't live with my parents but i told them i might just paint the bumper and take it to ohio and switch there since ohio cops have no idea that i'm suppose to have a front plate. Then when i go to new york to see my parents and etc i'll put the 01 bumper back on. I haven't completely decided yet.

Sounds like an annoying pain in the ass. Your twenty years old, but still let your parents run you. I mean, well I'm just not gonna get into it.

Couldn't help myself... But seriously get one of them from egay or make one by getting some angled steel/aluminum from home depot and mount it to the inside of the fog light hole so you'll never see the holes..

go to home depot, get four suction cups from the hardware department (should be in the picture hanging bay) these suction cups will have hooks on them. remove those. the lip on the top of the cup should fit in the holes on the plate. simply suction cup the plate on. it WORKS my street rod teacher uses this all the time for the guys who dont want holes in their expensive fancy bumpers.
