third brake light
so..some how the plastic that holds the third brake light broke on the inside...and apparently i need to get a new one...anyone know where i could find one?...and do 04 neon third brake light would fit on a 2005?
It seems like they over tighten the shit out of them from the factory, I've had 4 and they all had broken tabs. I might have a soare one kicking around, but its probably got broken tabs.JeffM wrote:Are you talking about the tabs that the two bolts go through to hold it onto the trunk?
If so, and you have a little bit of the tab left, just get a couple big friggen washers and bolt that baby down tight.

Yeah, try a washer. That's not atypical. They get brittle and crack.

A washer probably won't help because there is nothing to clamp it against.

How do you figure? The washer will push the broken part out where it should be and there's a lip/foam 'gasket' around the lamp itself that will keep it firm against the trunk lid.racer12306 wrote:A washer probably won't help because there is nothing to clamp it against.
Although, that's still a temporary fix for a cheap problem. If nothing else get a new clear Modern Performance one on ebay for $20 and call it a day

Ah! phrase fail! The expression is 'for all intents and purposes'wiggyx wrote:Washer is, for all intensive purposes, a permanent fix. I had mine held in with 2 washers until I shaved it completely. Probably more stable than the way it came from the factory.
