park in front of a wall (like 30ft away), turn on headlight, mark the light/dark boundary and turn the screw. so you will see in wich direction you have to turn - and you can also see if both headlights are adjusted well.

+1

I was going to say, if you are aligning your headlights anyways, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you are turning it the right way or wrong way.

that is the new times:
first ask the internetz and than try it.

It's not anymore like we used to learn all that shit:
Go outside with your tools, disassemble the whole thing and try to find out how it works. And if you cannot reassemble it - ask your buddie or daddy....

Well in the OP's defense, If the adjuster is stripped, or they are replacements (Depot) the unit doesn't always move like OEM's. Mine (Depot) seem to take forever to move. But I can't recall which way was what. But I see his point in wanting to know if you are screwing it up worse, or making progress. If his age is correct, he has a few years on most of you. :D

Projectors can't even be adjusted with the lights on the car. I've got Depo replacement ones, and one adjustment screw is a torx and the other is a philips. Really though, all you've gotta do is start turning until you see it move, then just move it the direction you need.

Why Do You Type Every Word Starting With A Capital Letter? That Is Grammatically Incorrect And Annoying To Read!

03+ can be but it is an enourmous PITA, so its probably easier to just take them off.

FWIW, mine are just the standard replacements. Just Depot brand.
