I ma def thinking about getting a CF hood with my tx return early next year.i think that a cf hood would look sick on my CG paint...im loving the vis invader alot, but i cant seem to find pics of it on a 01 style front. so what do u guys recommend for cf hoods, ive heard rd is trash, ive heard good things about vis (both the oem and the invader) but im still debating on which one i like more. ive also heard great things a kaminari (sp?) but they really expensive. and where do u guys recommend me to buy a vis hood from? and whats your feelings on hood pins?

there is a decent pic of the invader on our year. i would go more with a vis or kaminari. ive havent had expierence with cf hoods, but i hear good things about vis and i know kaminari makes good products. as far as hood pins. you dont need them, but it is a good idea to have them. especialy if you do a lot of high speed traveling. i had a friend who was just cruising down the street at like 50mph in his eclipse and his hood popped up broke off and flew behind him and this old lady ran it over. then i had another friend who had a cf hood on his stratus. it almost popped off when he was traveling at 100mph. then he got a civic with cf hood and same thign almost happened so he put hood pins on to hold it down. just my .02 cents

I have the VIS OEM hood...fits very well, no gaps or anything. the only bad thing about mine, is over time (ive had it almost 2 years now) it got some small scractches all over the hood. i dont know if it was maybe from my cat jumping on the car and sliding on the hood...thats all i can think that it would be so i highly doubt that gonna happen to yours. i would reccomend reclearing it though. i had mine recleared about 6 months ago and it looks brand new again. as far as hood pins, thats your call. personally dont like how they look, but they do/can serve a purpose.

cool, im now debating between the vis oem or the invader, i really like how the invader looks on that cg paint! but on the other hand i think i might be too much, considering i have no plans of body kitting the car, i think the oem would look pretty badass.... where did u get your vis hoods?

ok i did a quick search...here is what i came up with
http://www.carbonfiberhoods.net/index.p ... 5_288_1408 ( invader style $427, OEM 370$)
http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/vis_ ... ber_hoods/ (invader 460$)
http://www.carbon-fiber-hoods.com/enter ... et=d4.html (570$!!! invader style)
havent dealt with ne of these companies, deal with them at ur own risk!

I don't know ne thing about this company or any of the ones on ebay, but you can get one cheaper on ebay...seems like you are taking a chance either way if you are not buying from a well known supplier or can see the hood in person b4 purchasing...
Go to Ebay and search for "00 Neon Carbon Fiber hood". You will get a lot choose from- no name brands starting at $350 SHIPPED what looks to be genuine VIS starting at around $450 SHIPPED. I would want to see my hood before purchasing it, but that's just me.

i personally wouldnt buy a hood from ebay...too much of a risk. its one of those 'get what you pay for' deals.

Yeah, I am with you on that...I was just giving the guy another place to look. If I were to buy a hood off of the internet, I would probably go to somewhere like Modern Perf, or anywhere else that has had good relations with the Neon community. Not someone who has things written like "00-05 Neon Hood 2 or 4 door"

yeah im not too fond of ebay, especially for such a big ticket item...this site with the oem for 370 is an authorized VIS dealer, so i dont think there will be any problems if i do end up getting the hood. and my best friends dad said to have the hood shipped to him and he would even put a few coats of clear on it for free.....turns out tutoring his daughter for the better half of the year is paying off

thanks, but i wont be getting the hood until after the new year, maybe with some x mas money, but im def going to with the oem hood, the invader i think just it too much for my car, seeing as its not kitted or anything, and i dont have plans for putting one on
