just tape. heat them with a hair dryer adequately before pulling them off. May want to use a credit card or fishing line to cut them off. Be careful as the paint will probably have tiny bubbles in it underneath

Yea the paint is something to consider before you go through with it. My car had a good bit of bubbling but I don't really notice it because I buffed and waxed it.The only real way to solve that issue is a full door repaint, however. Also, most likely the card you use will get ruined, so don't use your visa.

I actually prefer not to use a heat gun. It helped melt the adhesive to the paint and was a bitch to get it off. After a lot of adhesive remover and time, finally got it all cleaned up, but when I just used a credit card it was so much easier.

So yea, just a word of advice. You can do whatever you like, but I found that using just a credit card without a heat gun was easier.
