I ordered a set of new headlights on eBay about a week ago, because my stock lights are HORRIBLE (they are fogged and very, very poor output)

Got them today and right off the bat started the retrofit of my Morimoto Mini H1 projectors I picked up from The Retrofit Source. I thought about FXR's but these are pretty damn good for the price.

I thought about the aftermarket projectors, but I just couldn't stand the look with those 3 little LED's. I like a more factory appearance, so I went with a home made build. Hopefully this weekend I'll have them installed and have a full report



Took about a half hour and I had the projector already fitted. I still have to fine tune the adjustment (which I will do this weekend) and seal the lens.



Output shot at about 10 feet. Maybe a little further. Yeah, this is my computer room so it's kind of a mess, deal with it.



Compared to stock output, no, I didn't care that this one wasn't setting level.

I like the look and nice work. Would like to see some pics after the install.

I went with a more traditional chrome housing because of two reasons:

I wanted a more factory appearance, and I've done the "blacked out" look on headlights. Wasn't a fan of it on my last car I had these projectors in.

The cop car is my buddy's patrol car, lol

The retros look good. I'll have to go with Johny and say that I'd prefer black housing, but good job overall!

Maybe if the car was black I wouldn't have a problem with them black, but.. on my old beater Cavalier I really wish I didn't go with the black housing.

They gave it a real bug eye look and I wasn't happy with it.


Maybe if the shrouds were black as well it may have made me like it more? *shrugs*

I don't think the black housings would look bad at all.
The Cavalier has that bug eye'd look cause there is so much dead space around the projectors.

There's alot less of that emptiness on the Neon headlights. It's a more even gap between the edges of the housing and where the actual light is.

I personally love the look in the chrome housing. It hides them so they look more factory. Just the way I like most of my exterior mods!
