ok so on top of everything that i just fixed my neon decided to throw another issue my way, i have manual locks and i lock my car every time i get out of it because i have tools in my trunk, So i walked out of school yesterday to go home and i put my key in the door and it stopped halfway through and i couldn't pull my key back out and it wouldn't continue to unlock the door, so i couldn't open my door or get my key out, ok its been doing this for awhile now but not as bad as it did yesterday and im lost on how to fix it or what is even wrong with it, but the part that confuses me the most is that both doors do it and i have three keys for my car and every one of them do it so i know its the doors...any help or ideas would help me so much!
Thanks

Did you try spraying WD40 or similar in the lock cylinders? Sometimes they get crud in them and need to be lubed/cleaned.

If something like WD40 doesn't fix it, maybe you need to check the rods inside the door. It does sound more like a cylinder issue though. Wouldn't hurt to buy a little $1 bottle of lock graphite either...

I thought WD40 and stuff could gum the cylinders up?? I would get some elecrtonics cleaner (cause it evaporates) to clean it and squirt some lock graphite in there to lube it up...

WD40 isn't really a lubricating spray (WD40= water displacement formula 40), but it works. I don't see why it would gum it up?

Agreed, WD40 isn't going to gum up anything. It too will evaporate, just takes a bit longer. I have successfully used it many times to free up a seized door lock. Keeping a can in the house in winter also works well for frozen locks, as the warm liquid will melt the ice, and displace the water.

Why wait? It only takes a few seconds to spray it in there. It won't hurt anything.
