SRT exhaust on an n/a neon won't sound anything like an SRT just FYI. The turbo quiets down the exhaust a lot on an SRT, so yours will be louder and more obnoxious. Be prepared for cops to mess with you.

Probably just needs to be buffed, or at worst case scenario wetsanded and then buffed.
Buffing/sanding won't help. All you are doing is affecting the clear coat. You will not be touching the color at all. If you do, you have screwed up.
Time in the sun will fade it to the same color as the rest. If it had/has been repainted over the molding, there will be a small ridge in the paint.

If the color match is related to a hazed clearcoat, yes.. buffing and/or sanding will make a difference.
But if it is indeed a basecoat problem then you're correct it won't matter.

No one ever believes us when we say it will be loud.

LOL I didn't read that until after it was done.
Now, when I get the lip kit put on, they won't stick out as far, will they? I'm hoping the kit will block them a little more, having it look more stock.

If It's too loud for your liking, they have glass packs to tame the sound. I have a
30" glass pack in the corner of my bedroom which I plan to post a before and
after video of the installation to compare differences.

look up Hansken_yo to see what his car looks like with that SRT exhaust on a silver with lip kit. Actually he has the Mopar/Borla rear, but you'll see where it needs to be cut anyway

Main reason I despise the PVO spoiler (molded) is you know that trunklid it's on is filled with bondo. I'm a body guy so I've seen the long term effects on stuff like that. Few years tops before you start seeing cracks and such. Even less if it's a car that sees lots of sun.
Not necessarily... They sell CF/fiberglass trunks now with molded PVO spoilers, but I get where you're coming from. I did mine myself and I'm no body man. I know eventually it's probably going to crack off several years down the line but that was a risk I took when I got into the project. In the meantime the trunk came out looking sick.

I found his profile - his car in silver is very sexy. Looks good Hansken_yo! The only downfall...half of his pics in his garage, mostly the pics of the rear, no longer are linked to photobucket...so I wasn't able to see where his cutouts were too well. Ryan, maybe you can help me out when the kit comes in?

Picture POst and Progress Log sections are better for finding pictures. Check this one out
As well as the post in his prog log. You can see what I meant about the cutouts being at the very edge of the indentation in the lip rather than the cutouts marked on the lip

Ahh yes, I see what you mean Ryan about it being at the end of the middle section...I'll just throw her up on the lift and measure that way lol I shouldn't have to remove the bumpers - I'm hoping at least
iThane - tell me more about these glass packs - I was driving around this evening and it was definitely louder than I'd like...

You'll have to take the bumpers off to drill the holes in the bumpers to screw the lips on.
As for the glass pack, any long glass pack should work. Just pick up a 30" Cherry Bomb or something and weld it in the midpipe

The SRT, while being too high, eliminates that problem.
Depends on how tall you are.
I am 1.83m and with the SRT spoiler i could see in my mirror - only the spoiler.
SXT spoiler is very fine for me and i like the look.
