Tinting tails from the inside?

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

Tinting tails from the inside?

Post by quicksilvr » Thu Dec 22, 2005 11:14 pm

I've only seen one person with stock tails tinted from the inside. I'm getting ready to do it, and I even had an experimental tailight to play with. Well, I chipped it trying to get it apart, so then I went ahead and put it in the oven to try to heat it up more evenly. It ended up melting. The fact that the oven was set to 240 instead of 140 might have been the problem.

Now that my experimental light is shot, I can't screw up the two I'm keeping. Will putting the entire light in the oven set at like 120 degrees be ok to heat it up? I'll keep a close eye on it this time, but I was just wondering if anyone else has done this, and how they were successful.

Because this way it will be more safe from scratches and it will give it more of a smoked look than a look of just plain black taillights. I know someone has done it, just can't remember who.

Sweet huh. Mine will be done if the person I bought them from on ebay ever sends them. This is the first time I've had a bad ebay experience...and I don't like it.
