edit: new question, didnt wanna make a new post..

does anyone have a black spoiler on a non black car? i was kinda tossing around the idea of painting the spoiler i got satin black or gloss black for that matter for my CG neon and either nightshade the tails and 3rd brake, or aftermarker black housing tails.. also want to do the black projector headlights..

or would that just look silly..?

might have to bust open photoshop later and try it, but my skills are rusty..

i'm worried with such a big piece, my colormatch paint wont "match" considering how old the car is. i did my eyelids with the colormatch, and you can tell its a tad darker just a hair, but its not a big deal so much being so small..

old question: (so, snagged a spoiler today at the JY for a cool 15$.. i should have enough oem paint to cover it..

i went to look under my trunk lid and i dont have the access holes.

what would be the best way to mark where i need to drill?

and i guess im gonna need longer bolts now...

anyone else with 00-01 install a spoiler have any tips?

no you don't use longer bolts... there's two layers of metal you have to drill through. I'd use a small hole saw to do the inner one. I know there is a how to for this with pictures as well...

EDIT: Looks like the pics are no longer hosted but here is this how to. He also had the 4 holes underneath as well.

theres a how to in the exterior section but thats for if you have the holes.. so im gonna have to mark from the top and drill from the top.. since drilling from underneath is drilling blind and guessing..

A lot of the 70's muscle cars had black rear spoilers.

Too bad that template Ryan linked is for the '02 and up spoilers. Won't work for the Hammerhead.

Hmmm missed that mopar link, but I'm on my phone, I'll check it tommorrow, I am not doing a hammerhead, I pulled an sxt spoiler from the yard.

I think the black idea could work.

im gonna try and photoshop the spoiler on later to get some opinions...
