I have an 01 rt I bought a few weeks ago, runs good, but I have a water problem. We had a hard rain the other day and there was about 2" of rain in the back seat floor board., and about a ¼" in the front. What can I do to stop this? Is it the door seals? Also what can I do to dry it out so I don't have to de ice my inside windshield this winter?

this isn't a "where is the problem" issue. you'll need to track it down. use a garden hose and place it at the points of concern (use search button). to dry it out... remove everything and dry it out? lol

"Tail light gaskets" would be a good search term. This is the classic tail light symtoms.

Some use silicone RTV to seal the tail lights, but I prefer spending $16ish on new gaskets, so I can remove them again without a huge hassle.

The water comes in the tail light area, and runs along the sides of the trunk into the rear seating/floor, then into the front. Sometimes it even follows the trunk edges well enough the spare tire well stays dry. But I would look there too, maybe the jack and spare haven't rusted into one mass yet.

If it was only the passenger front, it would be from the HVAC outside air vent. A door seal is also possible, but is usually isolated to that area.

To confirm the tail lights, just tape a hose to the rear window, and let it run down the trunk area. With the rear seats down, trunk liner removed, look in the trunk with a flash light. You will see where it is coming in.

Don't lose the plastic nuts for the tail lights. They are not sold separately. Nor do they come with replacement aftermarket tail lights.

You will want to remove the rear seat bottom too, to let it air out. Just pull on the front of the bottom, and it pops out. Then you can collect whatever goodies have been gathering in there.
