STB hood gap ?

Post by sneakers O'toole » Mon Jul 23, 2012 9:45 am

Kind of a n00bish question, but this is the first set i've had in the seven years i've had the car.. I have the DC STBs and the front one is making my hood sit uneven resulting in a bit of a gap.. What bracing under the hood do I cut or bend in, and which is better to do? Cut or bend?

I'm guessing you are using the SRT front bar and not the non SRT bar?

I never had a problem with my flat hood sitting uneven, just the hood pad tabs making contact with the bar. I cut the tabs off and didn't have any more problems.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I guess it's an SRT bar yeah.. Upon closer inspection after work I found out it was slightly bent upwards on the drivers side.. Like a little hump on that side.. A little session with a 3lb sledge and readjusting of the bar/hood/fender and all is well.

I'm assuming the "hump" you are talking about was on the hood bracket...

Maybe "hump" was a poor description, lol. The bar was bent about 3/4 of the way across, causing it to stick up and hit the hood on the drivers side.. I just took it off and bent it back.

Don't mean to bump up a dead thread, but where was your gap, near the headlight or towards the back? Cause I have a slight gap near the front pass headlight, and I have the DC stb
