My car has 50k miles, do you think if i took those moldings off the doors (dont know what theyre called) it'd be a dif color?

there is a possibility that it will. how often is the car out in the sun? and do you wax it with uv proctection wax? there really is only one way to find out if it will be a different color.....take it off....i guess you could even start to take it off a little and see if it is a different color and if so then just stop and hope it sitll stick and press it back on or put some new heavy duty double sided tape stuff to get it to stick back.

My car is an 01 and it had around 58k and it came off with no discoloration at all. If it is discolored a little baking in the sun will bring it back to the same color as your car. Makes Neons look a hello of alot better. I would wait til it warms up before you do it though.

Theoretically, yeah, it does fade the rest of the car lol but after a while, both parts fall into each other. Same goes for removing the badges on the trunk. It was a little off when I first did it, but it's now *almost* unnoticable.

Just watch for the evil bubbles...

I didnt have bubbles or discoloration on either of these

If you have a garage - I would recommend a space heater and a hair dryer to assist you in this project . . . also some "sticker/tar" remover to help get some of the nasty off

What are these 'evil bubbles' you speak of?

some of the neons, when you attempt to take off the sidemoldings, some people have had problems w/ the paint 'letting go' and bubbling up underneath the molding. It didnt happen w/ mine, but its happened to a few people on here. I think they ended up just putting them back on, so pull up a corner of it a few inches back and if all looks well (besides a little fading) just keep going

use some rubbing compound and polish her up, then let her sit out in the sun... shouldn't take too long before its all one color.

Yeah dont wax it . . . wax helps prevent sun fading . . .which is what you would want : )

Ive also heard buffing with a buffer helps . . .but like i said . . .i didnt have the problem

i removed my mouldings this weekend and the color from under the molding was lighter than the car...well that was odd but with some rubbing compound and some sitting time i can already see the colors blending some more

Time will only make it better : )
